Eitheron paper, or digitally, Yancong’s small drawings are picturesque and discursive. Since the material he applies lacks the concealing quality, as a result, the mindset and mood of the artist’s creative process are revealed before the viewer, offering a more transparent, direct and genuine relationship between the artist and the viewer. The childish naivete in his work is as refreshing as a mint gum - its naughtiness, naivete or imaginations.
