As an outstanding photographer, filmmaker and educator in China, Mr. Wu Yinxian (1900-1994) was very influential in the history of photography in China. As one of the research projects on the development of photography in China.
Taikang Space organizes four exhibitions to show his representative works from the 1980s to the 1920s in a reverse chronological order after thorough studies on a large number of his works.
Following Beijing Hotel & Great Hall of the People: 1st Retrospective Photography Exhibition of Wu Yinxian in November 2009 and Genuine Colors & Images. Flowers in Bloom: 2nd Retrospective Photography Exhibition of Wu Yinxian in November 2010, as part of the retrospective exhibition project, Valiant & Heroic Peripateticism: 3rd Retrospective Photography Exhibition of Wu Yinxian is another important exhibition to be held in Taikang Space. This exhibition will showcase the “Militiawomen Series” that Wu Yinxian photographed in 1960s and 1970s, as well as another subject that runs through Wu Yinxian’s photography after 1949: landscape photography. The 4d Retrospective Photography Exhibition of Wu Yinxian which is also the last one for this project will be held on October, 2011 at Taikang Space.
