Xin Yunpeng’s project is named “Enemy of The Profession”. In a space of 51㎡, the artist sets up a coordinate as tall as himself (165cm). Centered on this point, it is a ceiling capable of adjusting its own height depending on external forces. Visitors’ experience with this project varies from one to another in that it does not totally depend on each visitor’s physique. Whenever someone tall walks through with his head rubbing the ceiling, someone shorter would be able to look around with ease. In this game where we bend or walk straight up, we will see this startling sight of restriction and freedom side by side. This is a project that explores both the viewing system and the exhibition subject. With a fixed yet flexible installation, the artist manages to assemble visitors at one point, thus making us reflect on our right/ political space of inventing and its governing rules.
